	Dimebag Darrell Died: 12-8-04 Age: 42 Reason: Shot Band: Pantera and most recently Damage Plan	Darrell Abbott is the son of country-western songwriter Jerry Abbott. Born in Dallas, Texas, he began playing the guitar at a very young age. Dime spent many years playing clubs and bars around Dallas before getting any national recognition, but nowadays he's known as a guitar hero.
	Ty Longley Died: 2-20-03 Age: 32 Reason: Club Fire Band: Great White	One of the many members of Great White through the years. He died in a tragic fire during a show when one of the pyro effects went wrong. He may not have been the most influential guitarists on the planet but his death is surely to be remembered.
	Dave Williams Died: 8-14-02 Age: 30 Reason: Heart Problems Band: Drowning Pool	Drowning Pool formed in Dallas Texas in the late 1990's. They were touring on OzzFest when Williams died. He died of heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy. His band was just beginning to break into the mainstream and unfortunately he's no longer around to be part of it.
	Layne Staley Died: 4-5-02 Age: 34 Reason: Heroin Overdose Band: Alice In Chains	Layne was born on August 22, 1967 in Kirkland, WA. The first instrument he played was the drums, he played in various glam bands. Eventually sick of drumming he stuck to singing and in 1987 he met Jerry, Mike and Sean and together they formed the grunge band Alice In Chains. Unfortunately his drug addictions got the best of him in 2002.
	Bradley Nowell Died: 5-25-96 Age: 28 Reason: Drug Overdose Band: Sublime	At the age of eleven, Brad took a trip with his father to the Virgin Islands that would be the trip that would spark his passion for reggae music. Inspired, Brad began teaching himself to play the guitar. At the age of 12, he received his first guitar. He teamed up with Eric Wilson and Floyd Gaugh, who he met in Santa Cruz Sublime quickly became one of the most popular bands in Southern California. Soon they were hitting it big and soon after recording their soon to be hit album he died leaving behind his wife and young son.
	Kurt Cobain Died: 4-5-94 Age: 27 Reason: Suicide Band: Nirvana	Kurt Cobain was the creative force behind "Nirvana", one of the first and most popular Seattle-based alternative music groups that came to be known as "grunge rock". He was known around the world for a voice unlike any others and after "Smells Like Teen Spirit" his life and those of his band mates were never the same again.
	Freddie Mercury Died: 11-24-91 Age: 45 Reason: Aids Band: Queen	Freddie Mercury was the lead singer for the glam-rock group Queen who enjoyed their biggest success in the 70's and early 80's. Queen stole the show at 1990's Knebworth Festival. It was to be the highlight of his career. He will always be remembered for having one of the best if not the best voices ever.
	Stevie Ray Vaughan Died: 8-27-90 Age: 36 Reason: Helicopter Crash Band: Double Trouble	Stevie Ray Vaughan was an electric blues/rock guitarist. He began his recording career in 1983 and after 7 short years he had conquered the music world, winning 3 Grammy Awards, and had succeeded in conquering his greatest foe, substance abuse. Although his choice of music was blues he could play just about anything he wanted. His life and career were cut short by a freak helicopter accident.
	Cliff Burton Died 9-27-87 Age: 25 Reason: Traffic Accident Band: Metallica	Cliff Burton was the bass player for Metallica. He fell victim to a "turn of an unfriendly card". On September 27th, 1987 while traveling thru Europe on their tour bus, their tour manager decided to stop the constant bickering over the sleeping arrangements by drawing cards. Cliff Burton drew high card , the Queen of Spades, and chose the "Master Suite". That very same day the bus slid off an icy road onto its side. He was found crushed underneath the bus. In fact the crane that lifted up the bus dropped it down back on him.
	Randy Rhoades Died: 3-20-82 Age: 26 Reason: Airplane Crash Band: Quiet Riot, and most notably Ozzy Osbourne	Randy Rhoades was a talented heavy metal guitarist who helped put Ozzy Osbourne back on the charts in the early 1980's. In 1982 while on tour, the band was staying at a farmhouse in Orlando and the pilot and Randy took the plane up and was "buzzing" the tour bus when he clipped into some trees and crashed killing Randy and the pilot. Ozzy later released "The Randy Rhoades Tribute Album".
	John Bonham Died :9-25-80 Age: 32 Reason: Alcohol Overdose Band: Led Zeppelin	John Bonham was the ultimate definition of a rock drummer and the stalwart back beat to Led Zeppelin. On September 25th, 1980 "Bonzo" was found dead at Page's house of what was described as asphyxiation, he inhaled his own vomit after excessive vodka consumption. On December 4th, 1980 Jimmy Page released a statement that they could no longer continue as they were. John "Bonzo" Bonham was 32 years old.
	Keith Moon Died: 9-7-78 Age: 32 Reason: Drug overdose Band: Who	Among rock drummers Moon is considered by many as one of the best. He especially stood out for his "across the board" drum rolls and powerful delivery. The "Who Are You" album cover was a death rock premonition. Moon was placed on a chair which read "not to be taken away". Unfortunately he was.
	Jim Morrison Died: 7-3-71 Age: 27 Reason: Heart Attack Band: Doors	Considered by many as rock's greatest poet, Jim Morrison embodied the dark side of rock-n-roll with his haunting lyrics and "Lizard King" persona. Jim's pattern of self-destructive behavior finally caught up with him, he was found dead in a bathtub in Paris France on July 3rd, 1971. Known as a heavy drinker, it was rumored that someone gave him heroin while on a drinking binge. Jim Morrison was 27 years old.
	Jimi Hendrix Died: 9-18-70 Age: 28 Reason: Drug Overdose Band: The Jimi Hendrix Experience	Widely recognized as one of the most creative and influential musicians of the 20th century, Jimi Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar. Hendrix's innovative style of combining fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion created a new musical form. He was just hitting his musical stride when he died. No one knows what could have come next for the legend except for more recognition and respect that he deserved.
